Four fire departments sent to WCI blast furnace blaze
WARREN — Four area fire departments were dispatched to a fire at a WCI Steel blast furnace along Main Street extension in Warren Township, reported about 7:45 tonight.
The Warren and Howland township fire departments were being aided by equipment and firefighters from the Warren City and Lordstown Village fire departments.
A Lordstown fire official said residents heard an explosion or noise, which may have been related to the blast furnace fire. A Trumbull County 911 dispatcher said no injuries had been reported as of 8 p.m.
