Bill Clinton, McCain coming to area

Former President Bill Clinton will speak Wednesday in New Castle, Pa., on behalf of his wife’s presidential candidacy.

It’s Clinton’s first visit to Lawrence County campaigning for U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y.

The former president is to speak at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday at the New Castle Junior/Senior High School, 300 E. Lincoln Ave. The event is open to the public.

The crucial Pennsylvania Democratic primary that pits the New York senator against U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., is Tuesday.

Also, U.S. Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, will visit the Youngstown area on Tuesday. Details of the event have yet to be announced.

To support that visit and Tuesday’s Pennsylvania primary, McCain’s campaign launched a television commercial today in targeted markets in Ohio and Pennsylvania, including Youngstown. The commercial, called “Ignite,” highlights McCain’s economic agenda.
