Teachers call for more volunteers for JA program

GIRARD — Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley said it needs volunteers to teach programs in Mahoning and Trumbull county schools.

“We have so many teachers that request JA programs throughout the school year the demand for volunteers has increased tremendously,” says David Basalyga, JA program manager.

Volunteers are asked to present five 45-minute lessons. JA provides lesson plans, program materials and training for all volunteers. For more information, contact the JA office at (330) 539-5268.

New president, officers elected to auto board

LIBERTY — Russell Banks has been elected president of the board of trustees of the Automobile Dealers Association of Eastern Ohio for 2008-2009. He is president of R.D. Banks Chevrolet in Champion. He represents the third generation of the family’s business.

Other new officers are Rob Fellman of Boardman Subaru, vice president, and Kim Welsh Koch of Welsh Motors in New Springfield, treasurer. Elected to new three-year terms as trustees were Chuck Eddy of Bob and Chuck Eddy Chryslter Jeep Dodge in Austintown and Matt Taylor of Taylor Kia in Boardman and Warren.
