Worth a Look: Area activities are open to the public
CARD/BINGO PARTIES
• Altar and Rosary Society of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 618 Ohio Ave., McDonald, will have a card and bingo party at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church hall. The evening will include raffles, door prizes and refreshments. The donation is $5.
• St. James the Apostle Parish, Route 422 West, New Bedford, Pa., will sponsor a card and bingo party from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 and includes lunch, refreshments, and table and door prizes. There will be a 50-50 raffle. For more information, call (724) 964-8276.
• St. Stephen of Hungary Altar and Rosary Society, 854 Wilson Ave., Youngstown, will have a bingo and card party at 2 p.m. Sunday in the church social hall. The $5 donation includes lunch and door prizes. Tickets can be purchased at the door. There will be a special raffle and a 50-50 drawing.
DANCES
• Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing Alumni Association will sponsor a Spring Fling Dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday at VFW Post 5532, 575 Leetonia Road, Washingtonville. The dance is open to the public. Snacks will be provided, there will be a cash bar, and disc jockey Bob Barko Jr. of Y-Town Tunes will play a variety of music. SALES
• Day Circle of Southington United Methodist Church, state Route 305 at 534, will have a rummage and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 23. Lunch of homemade soup, sandwiches, beverages and pie will be a available for dining in or carryout. Bag day will be from 9 to 11 a.m. April 24.
• Salvation Army Thrift Store in Austin Center, Mahoning Avenue, Austintown, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. A variety of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and bric-a-brac is available at bargain prices.
• A calendar of activities to which the public is invited is published Monday. Please submit information to the Society Department by 5 p.m. Thursday.
