Rogers leads Columbus Crew past Chivas USA
COLUMBUS — Robbie Rogers scored to lead the Columbus Crew in a 4-3 victory over Chivas USA on Saturday night in a game marked by two ejections, eight yellow cards and faltering stadium lights.
Guillermo Barros Schelotto scored on a penalty kick for the Crew (2-1-0) and set up goals for Alejandro Moreno and Rogers.
Referee Ricardo Salazar signaled for the penalty kick after Moreno was brought down in the penalty area by Chivas defender Jim Curtin in the 25th minute. Schelotto sent goalkeeper Brad Guzan the wrong way in converting the penalty for his first goal of the season.
Sacha Kljestan, Jesse Marsch and Paulo Nagamura scored for Chivas (1-1-1).
