Charity bike ride

Charity bike ride

BOARDMAN — Creekside Fitness and Health will team up with The Jessica Moorhead Foundation for Hope to help Mahoning Valley children suffering from cancer and chronic blood disorders.

Teams of five riders will begin their 100-mile journey at 9 a.m. Saturday at Creekside to support the foundation. The cost for bike sponsorships is $250 each. Proceeds will be used for a variety of local family needs, particularly the increasing cost of transportation to and from treatment. The 100-mile ride symbolizes the trip families make to Akron for chemotherapy until the new Akron Children’s Hospital facility in Boardman is fully operational, organizers said.
