AUSTINTOWN — Austintown Baptist Church, 1180 S. Raccoon Road, will present “Life Answers Revival,” a series of meetings at 7 p.m. April 20-23. Sessions will focus on God’s answers to questions pertaining to stress, family, marriage, job loss and finances. A question and answer period will follow each program. Resurrection service
NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Apostle Janet L. Newell, pastor and founder of Wind in the Word Worship Center and Women In Truth Fellowship, will conduct a resurrection service at 7:30 p.m. April 19 at Sanky Youth Center, 125 W. Grant St. Pastor Priscilla Alexander of Tabernacle of Praise Global Outreach in Youngstown and Daryl Allen of Prepare the Way Ministry, Pittsburgh, will participate. Guest soloist will be Stephanie Oakes of New Life Assembly of Poland.
Leap of Faith praise team
BOARDMAN —The Leap of Faith praise team of Good Hope Lutheran Church, 98 Homestead Drive, will offer a praise service, “Takin’ it to the Lord,” at 4 p.m. April 20. After the free concert, there will be a spaghetti dinner and dessert fundraiser to benefit the Good Hope Preschool and Women of Faith retreat. The cost is $6.50 for those 12 and older and $3 for children ages 3-11.
Musical event in Campbell
CAMPBELL — Gospel Temple Baptist Church, 279 Whipple Ave., will present a musical event at 7 p.m. April 19 featuring Christian Allstars of Akron, Poor Boy and Heavy Weights. The event is sponsored by the Nurses Guild and Choir.
Donna Pena in concert
BOARDMAN — Donna Pena, liturgical composer, recording artist and author, will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave. She is recognized for her composition, “Digo Si Senor” (“I Say Yes, Lord”), a piece in Spanish and English.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Tickets also will be available the door.
Missionary to speak
BOARDMAN — Barbara Pinkley, a missionary to Kenya, will be guest speaker at the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday at Glenwood Christian Fellowship, 7872 Glenwood Ave. Pinkley, originally from Mansfield, has served at Tenwek Hospital in Kenya since joining World Gospel Mission. She has been a nurse and midwife at the hospital, which provides health care to more than 100,000 patients each year. She also was instrumental in the development of its School of Nursing and has served as an instructor and supervisor to nursing students there.
Women’s Bible study
WARREN — Common Grounds, a women’s Bible study, will meet at 7 p.m. April 21 in the community room at Panera Bread, 3641 Elm Road N.E. Speaker will be Pastor Karen Huff of Full Covenant Tabernacle Church of God. The interdenominational group, which meets the third Monday of each month, is for women of all ages, races and religious backgrounds. Studies address relevant issues that women face today.
‘Church Meeting’ show
YOUNGSTOWN — The education assistance ministry at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Arlington St., will present its fourth annual production of the comedy “The Church Meeting” at 7 p.m. Friday and April 19 in S.P. Phillips Fellowship Hall.
Spring luncheon

Kirkin’ of the Tartan
BOARDMAN — Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive, will hold its Kirkin’ of the Tartan service during regular worship at 10:30 a.m. April 20. Kirk is a Scottish word for church and tartan is the traditional pattern in a woolen fabric that distinguishes Scottish clans. The Kirkin’ of the Tartan is the traditional blessing of tartans by clergy. There will be pipe and drum, roll call of the clans and McConnell Scottish Dancers. A Scottish tea will follow.

GREENVILLE, Pa. — Pastor Brad Spencer will officiate at healing services at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Living Word Christian center, 21 S. Maysville Road. Child care will be available for those age 3 and younger.
Guest speaker in Farrell
FARRELL, Pa. — New and Living Way, Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 927 Lee Ave., will host guest speaker at its 11:30 a.m. Sunday service. Deacon Joe Lee and a gospel chorale from Washington, D.C., will be at a service at 4 p.m.
Coffeehouse series
GIRARD — His Music Connection will continue its coffeehouse series with Jordan Biel, youth and worship pastor of Rock of Grace Family Ministries, who will release his new CD, “The Way You Move Me,” on April 19. Witness, a contemporary rock band from Akron, also will entertain at the event from 6 to 10 p.m. at 29 W. Liberty St., Girard. The event is free.
National Day of Prayer
YOUNGSTOWN — The City Prayer Team of Youngstown will observe the National Day of Prayer ’08 on May 1 during three events in the city.
Pastor Mark Geppert, international missionary, will speak from 7 to 8 a.m. at Fifth Avenue Community Church, 1361 Fifth Ave. Another event will be from noon to 1 p.m., at the corner of Market and West Federal streets with speaker Pastor Tarone Claybook, a member of Heartreach Ministries.
A program will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 30 W. Front St. An original play by Kenneth Brown, local educator and playwright, will be staged. Farrell churches merging
FARRELL, Pa. — Bishop Donald Trautman of the Diocese of Erie has announced the merger of St. Ann Church, Fruit Avenue, with Our Lady of Fatima Churches, Roemer Boulevard, effective June 1.
Since 2003, St. Ann’s has shown a 28 percent decrease in parish families from 172 to 130. Its pastor, Monsignor Charles Murcko, is retiring. The current priest shortage in the diocese rules out the chance of a replacement.
