A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman:
POLAND
April 3
Domestic violence: Police arrested a 43-year-old man at his Delaware Avenue home after receiving a 911 call. The man’s wife alleged that he struck her five times in the face.
BOARDMAN
April 3
Theft: An employee with a South Avenue store reported his vehicle’s driver’s-side rear tire had been slashed.
Burglary: A Mill Creek Drive woman discovered a break-in through her garage, and that a $3,000 computer and a digital camera were missing.
Domestic violence: A Youngstown man, 34, was taken into custody at his workplace on U.S. Route 224 and charged after authorities had responded to a fight at a Doral Drive business. The woman alleged her boyfriend had struck her.
Theft: A Southwestern Run Drive woman returned to her home after a trip and discovered $700, antique coins and a checkbook missing.
Arrest: Police booked a 22-year-old Youngstown man at the Mahoning County Jail on a charge of attempted robbery related to a December incident at the Southern Park Mall in which a New Castle, Pa., woman reported having been assaulted when someone tried to take her purse.
April 4
Misuse of a credit card: A Bancroft Avenue man reported his credit card was used without permission to make $5,180 worth of purchases.
Theft: A surveillance camera showed a man stealing $160 worth of merchandise from a Shell True North station, 950 Boardman-Poland Road.
Assault: A student at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave., told police another student used a welding torch to burn and injure part of the accuser’s hand.
Identity theft: A Fairlawn Avenue woman reported a friend opened credit card accounts in her name and used the accuser’s card to pay bills.
Theft: Two 19-year-old Youngstown women faced theft charges, accused of taking 16 articles of clothing from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.
Theft: A motorist pumped $47.24 worth of gasoline and left a BP station, 1090 Boardman-Poland Road, without paying.
Theft: A woman’s $40 digital camera was taken from her Oregon Trail residence.
Counterfeit: A phony $100 bill was found in a register at Wal-Mart.
Auto theft: A worker for a Boardman-Poland Road store reported the theft of his father’s 1987 Chevrolet vehicle.
Arrest: While investigating a suspicious person on Shields Road, officers arrested a man, 33, on charges of resisting arrest, obstructing official business and public intoxication. The man refused to cooperate and resisted police, the report said.
Burglary: A Boardman boy, 17, faced charges of burglary and receiving stolen property when, police said, he admitted having a $10,000 engagement ring that had been taken in January from a Terrace Drive woman.
Identity fraud: A Hitchcock Road woman told police she checked her credit report online and realized someone has had a mortgage in her name for several years, and that a freeze was placed on her account because she couldn’t prove her identity.
Burglary/damage: A South Schenley Avenue woman reported someone broke into her apartment and damaged carpeting, several pairs of shoes and clothing.
April 5
Theft/vandalism: A worker for a Southern Boulevard business reported damage to three vehicles, and that someone tried to steal a 1997 Ford F-250 truck. The air bag to one car was missing.
Attempted burglary: A woman in the 4700 block of Hillman Way discovered someone tried to enter her apartment when she found a door frame had been cracked.
Criminal damaging: Someone broke into a company van at an East Western Reserve Road business.
Theft: Four signs and four sign posts were stolen in the 6900 block of Glendale Avenue.
Theft/criminal damaging: Two company-owned vehicles belonging to a Southwestern Run Road business were broken into, and a metal detector was taken.
Theft: A woman, 20, and a 27-year-old man, both of Austintown, were charged after DVDs were stolen from Sam’s Club, 6361 South Ave.
Theft: A Youngstown woman, 30, faced a theft charge. She was accused of taking three $22 candles from Pat Catan’s Craft Center, 6151 South Ave.
Arrest: A traffic stop on Market Street resulted in the arrest of a 34-year-old Youngstown man wanted on a misdemeanor warrant from Campbell.
Theft: Someone took $100 worth of computer software from Office Max, 427 Boardman-Poland Road.
Theft: Two sets of dice were stolen from Spencer Gifts in the Southern Park Mall.
Theft: A man reported a tool bag with numerous tools stolen from his car at an East Western Reserve Road business.
April 6
Stolen property: A Boardman man, 35, was picked up on Shields Road when police learned he was wanted on a felony warrant charging him with receiving stolen property. A Mill Creek Drive woman had reported the theft of a computer and a digital camera from her residence after a break-in.
Domestic violence: After pulling him over on Southern Boulevard, officers took into custody a 41-year-old Boardman man on a domestic-violence charge. A Nova Lane woman alleged her former husband had threatened to kill her.
Citation: A 21-year-old North Jackson man was cited in the 1400 block of Boardman-Canfield Road after police said he was intoxicated and had caused a disturbance in the area.
Theft: An East Liverpool woman reported the theft of a set of keys while at a Boardman-Poland Road store.
Theft: A woman’s purse was stolen while she patronized a Market Street eatery.
Theft: A Huntington Drive man reported an MP3 player and another item stolen from his car.
Criminal damaging: An Applewood Boulevard man reported damage to a portion of his front yard.
Theft: A license plate was removed from a car on Southern Boulevard.
Burglary: A Shields Road man reported two garage door openers and a camera missing after someone had entered his garage.
Theft: A Boardman woman, 24, was charged after being accused of stealing a pack of cigarettes from Rite Aid Pharmacy, 307 Boardman-Canfield Road.
