Man indicted on aggravated murder

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County grand jury indicted Reginald K. Everson on an aggravated-murder charge with a gun specification in the March 30 death of Terrell L. Roland.

Everson, 21, of West Chalmers Avenue, faces a possible life prison sentence in the fatal shooting of Roland, 18, of East Avondale Avenue. Roland was shot twice in his driveway and died on the night after the shooting in St. Elizabeth Health Center. The indictment was handed up Thursday.

Everson, who had been free on $15,000 bond since July 2007, surrendered to police April 1.

Everson is charged with aggravated robbery in a case that involves the shooting death of an Auto Zone store clerk on the city’s East Side in May 2006. Two other men are charged with murder in that crime.

Besides the aggravated-murder charge with the gun specification in the Roland case, the grand jury also indicted Everson on an illegal-gun-possession charge because of his involvement in the Auto Zone case.
