YSU to name new women’s basketball coach Friday

Youngstown State is expected to name Cindy Martin as its new women’s basketball coach Friday.

Martin, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., compiled a 70-23 record in three seasons at Indian (Pa.).

Last season, IUP won 27 games and Martin was named East Region Coach of the Year by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.

She replaces Tisha Hill, who resigned in February after five seasons.
