WASHINGTON — Antawn Jamison returned from a shoulder injury to score 27 points and help Washington beat Boston to win the season series over the league’s top team. Gilbert Arenas, in his third game back from knee surgery, added 13 points on 5-for-14 shooting in a relatively low-key 24 minutes. Paul Pierce scored 28 points, and Kevin Garnett had 22 points and 14 rebounds for the Celtics, who had 21 turnovers and have more or less been in exhibition mode since clinching the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Hornets 122, Timberwolves 90

MINNEAPOLIS — Chris Paul had 19 points and 16 assists to help New Orleans bounce back from an ugly loss by beating Minnesota. Peja Stojakovic scored 24 points and David West had 22 for the Hornets, who scored just 66 points in a loss to Utah Tuesday. Rashad McCants had 23 for the Timberwolves, who have lost six straight. Randy Foye scored 20 points for Minnesota, but just four of those came in the final three quarters. The win gave the West-leading Hornets a franchise-best 55 wins, beating the record set in 1996-97.

76ers 101, Pistons 94

PHILADELPHIA — Andre Iguodala scored 25 points, hitting a season-high four 3-pointers to help Philadelphia defeat Detroit. Samuel Dalembert added 20 points and 13 rebounds for Philadelphia and Iguodala had six assists, five rebounds and five steals. The victory kept the Sixers in the sixth playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, a game ahead of Toronto and a game behind Washington, who both won Wednesday night. Chauncey Billups had 18 points to lead Detroit, which already has locked up the No. 2 seed in the East and again gave its reserves significant playing time.

Magic 115, Bulls 83

ORLANDO, Fla. — Dwight Howard had 30 points and 14 rebounds for Orlando. Howard played with six stitches in his upper lip, the result of a collision in practice Tuesday with 6-foot-11 reserve Marcin Gortat. Howard recorded his NBA-leading 67th double-double, one short of Shaquille O’Neal’s franchise record from the 1992-93 season. Kirk Hinrich led Chicago with 19 points, while Ben Gordon and Aaron Gray each scored 13. Tyrus Thomas tied a career high with five blocks.

Raptors 111, Bucks 93

TORONTO — Chris Bosh had 32 points and 11 rebounds and Toronto ended a three-game losing skid. Former Raptor Charlie Villanueva had a season-high 38 points and a career-high seven 3-pointers. He scored 25 of Milwaukee’s first 29 points. Anthony Parker added 18 points for the Raptors, who have struggled despite clinching a playoff spot last week.

Knicks 109, Bobcats 107

NEW YORK — Fred Jones made the go-ahead 3-pointer with 3:47 left and New York tied a season high with its third straight win. Jamal Crawford scored 18 points for the Knicks, who avoided the first 60-loss season in franchise history. Jason Richardson scored 25 points, and Raymond Felton and Emeka Okafor had 24 apiece for the Bobcats, whose franchise-record four-game road winning streak was snapped.
