Irondale man dies in car crash

YELLOW CREEK — The Lisbon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened at 2:36 a.m. today.

George M. McDowell, 47, of Irondale, was driving a 1996 Ford Taurus GEO on Old Irondale Road about three miles south of state Route 39.

The patrol said that the southbound vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

The patrol said McDowell was not wearing a seatbelt.
