CANFIELD CITY

March 28

Breaking and entering: A leaf blower and a five gallon plastic can with a plastic spout were stolen from a shed in the 500 block of Saw Mill Run Drive.

March 29

Identity theft: A woman from the 10 block of Maple Street reported she was having trouble with credit and identity theft since she returned to Canfield after living in California for three years. When she tried to open a local banking account, the bank said she couldn’t because of credit and identity problems, and told her to contact another bank about the details.

Identity theft: A woman who resides in the 70 block of Talsman Drive called police from Florida and said that someone had opened a Columbia Gas account using her husband’s Social Security number and their checking account, and had taken $427.77 out of their account.

Drugs, paraphernalia: Police arrested a 29-year-old Salem man after he was stopped on Lisbon Street. He was charged with drug abuse (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

March 30

Drug paraphernalia: A 19-year-old Hanoverton man was arrested on S. Broad St. for possession of drug paraphernalia.

March 31

Breaking and entering: Damage to a storage shed door was reported at a home in the 200 block of Saw Mill Run Road. Nothing was reported missing.

April 2

Unruly, menacing: A 16-year-old Canfield boy was arrested for being an unruly child and for menacing after he was caught fighting with his brother in the courtyard at El Patio Motel, 485 W. Main St. He also made menacing threats.

April 3

Drug arrest: A 49-year-old Canfield man was arrested during a traffic stop for possession of a marijuana residue and generic Vicodin.

April 4

Drug arrest: Police arrested a 37-year-old Washingtonville man after finding marijuana on him.

Theft: A Hypotherm Plasma Unit, a Powermax 30 with a total retail cost of $1,300 were reported stolen from Praxair distribution, 530 W. Main Street.

Theft by deception: A resident of the 100 block of Woodland Run reported he had made two payments to a company for a deck and the work was never completed.

April 5

Drug arrest: Police arrested an 18-year-old Boardman man for possession of marijuana during a traffic stop on N. Broad Street.

March 31

Drug offense: A Youngstown man was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and a second man was arrested on a warrant and sent to Mahoning County jail after they were stopped on Mahoning Avenue at Meridian Road.

Drug offense: A Youngstown man was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and one pill on Black Oak Lane at Chaucer Lane.

Burglary: At an apartment in the 4000 block of Deer Creek Drive.

Theft: Mail was opened and books were stolen at an apartment at the Hillbrook Apartments, 456 S. Raccoon Road.

Lost or stolen wallet: A man reported his wallet lost or stolen at BW-3, 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Vandalism: A house was egged in the 3000 block of Edinburgh Drive.

Theft: $820 was stolen at Fuel Mart, 5301 Seventy-Six Drive.

Drug offense: An Austintown man was issued a summons for possession of marijuana and placed in county jail for possession of drug paraphernalia after an arrest at Meridian Road at Canfield Road.

April 1

Breaking and entering: A garage was broken into and assorted power tools were stolen in an unattached garage at a home in the 4000 block of Norquest Boulevard.

Breaking and entering: A rear yard shed was broken into in the 4000 block of Norquest Boulevard and a screen window and padlock were damaged, but nothing was taken.

Theft from vehicle: A vehicle was robbed in a driveway of a home in the 4000 block of Selkirk Ave., and a list of missing items is to be forwarded to police.

Criminal mischief: Eggs were thrown at a house and vehicle at a home in the 6000 block of Slippery Rock Drive.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were reported to have been made to an account at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

Theft: A woman was issued a summons for theft at Wal-Mart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: A magnetic business sign was stolen from an auto in the 400 block of Aspen Drive.

Theft: A minor couple in a stolen car attempted to take a television at Wal-Mart. They were arrested and placed in the Juvenile Justice Center.

April 2

Lost or stolen wallet: A wallet and its contents were reported missing at an unknown location.

Drug offense: A Youngstown man was issued a summons for possession of a marijuana in the 200 block of Carnegie Avenue.

Theft: A woman’s purse was stolen at Bill’s Place, 4771 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: $350 in cash was stolen at Send It Packin’ Plus, 4496 Mahoning Ave.

Counterfeit currency: A counterfeit $100 bill was passed at Walgreen’s, 3800 Tippecanoe Road.

Burglary: There were no signs of forced entry in a burglary at a home in the 3000 block of Mahoning Avenue.

Assault: An 82-year-old female is accused of assaulting an 81-year-old female at St. Joseph’s Bingo Hall, 4565 New Road.

April 3

Theft: A lock was pulled from the door of an auto, and tools were stolen at a home in the 1000 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Identity theft: A credit card account was opened at home in the 3000 block of Ayrshire Drive.

Attempted theft: A vehicle was broken into but nothing was taken in the 5000 block of Seventy-Six Drive.

Theft: Stereo equipment and a wallet were stolen from an auto at a home in the 4000 block of Woodhurst Drive.

April 4

Theft: Pop was stolen from Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Drug offense: A Struthers man was arrested for possession of cocaine and marijuana at Kirk Road and Redgate Drive.

Theft: Two gold necklaces were reported stolen at a home in the 5000 block of N. Beacon Drive.

Criminal damaging: A fence was damaged at a home in the 3000 block of Bryant Drive.

Criminal damaging: A mailbox was damaged at an apartment in the 4000 block of Kirk Road.

April 5

Theft: A catalytic converter was stolen from an auto in the 4000 block of New Road.

Attempted breaking and entering: At a vacant home in the 3000 block of Cannon Road.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle window was shattered in the 40 block of Parkgate Avenue.

Breaking and entering: A window was shattered and the cash drawer was taken at Youngstown Propane, 810 N. Meridian Road.

Theft by deception: A short-change incident was reported at Cracker Barrel, 5600 Interstate Boulevard.

April 6

Theft: Keys were taken from Sun Merchant, 3605 Mahoning Ave.

Burglary: Approximately $150 was taken from a home in the 400 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: Two leather coats and a Blackberry were stolen at the Babylon, 114 Javitt Court.

Weapons offense: A man was placed in county jail for carrying a concealed weapon at Interstate-80 and N. Four Mile Run Road.

Theft: $35.02 in fuel was stolen from Country Fair, 1143 N. Niles-Canfield Road.

Theft: 180 pills of Vicodin were stolen from a home in the 5000 block of Baylor Ave.

Breaking and entering: Furniture and other items were taken at Blake’s Mini Storage, 2024 S. Raccoon Road.

Criminal damaging: A lawn was damaged at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road.

Criminal trespass: A man was issued a summons for trespassing at Westgate Pizza, 4401 Mahoning Ave.

LIBERTY

April 4

Drugs: A traffic stop near North Gate Road resulted in the arrest of a Youngstown man, 18, and a Girard man, 20, on charges of drug abuse. The men admitted having several bags of suspected marijuana totaling about 13 grams, the report showed.

Drugs: Police pulled over a 64-year-old Youngstown man near Colonial Drive and said they found a piece of tin foil on his head containing two rocks of suspected crack cocaine. He was charged with drug abuse.

Assault: A 27-year-old Youngstown man was charged with assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest when, police said, they saw him grab a Green Acres Drive woman. Authorities also said they had to use a Taser after the man refused to cooperate and had led them on a foot chase.

Theft: A 37-year-old Youngstown man was taken into custody near Interstate 80 and Belmont Avenue and charged. He was accused of taking a pack of cigarettes from Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave.

April 5

Recovered property: A Ravine Drive man came home and found in his front yard a $50 mountain bike.

Criminal damaging: An Orchard Avenue woman accused her former boyfriend, a 46-year-old Lowellville man, of breaking her vehicle’s windshield as well as scratching and denting the passenger-side door. Damage came to $500.

Drugs: Police investigated a suspicious car in the 200 block of Colonial Drive and said they found a small bag of suspected crack cocaine. A 20-year-old Cortland woman faced a felony count of possession of crack cocaine.

Drugs: A Girard man and a McDonald woman, both 26, were arrested after police responded to possible drug activity in the 1100 block of Tibbets-Wick Road. The man was charged with possession of heroin, drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia, and was wanted on a charge of receiving stolen property; the woman faced charges of possession of heroin and dangerous drugs. A small bag of suspected heroin was among the items found, authorities said.

April 6

Criminal damaging: A Logan Arms Drive woman reported someone spray-painted a racial slur on her garage door.

Domestic violence: Officers picked up a Youngstown man, 41, walking on state Route 193 and turned him over to Howland authorities upon learning he was wanted after a woman filed a domestic-violence complaint against him there.

Drugs: After stopping a 24-year-old Warren man in the 4000 block of Belmont Avenue, police charged him with drug abuse when, they said, a small bag of suspected cocaine was found.

Theft: Officers cited a Girard man, 50, on a theft charge after a 12-pack of beer and a bottle of an alcoholic beverage were stolen from Giant Eagle.

April 7

Theft: A Youngstown man, 25, was charged, accused in the theft of a box of hair clippers from Rite Aid Pharmacy, 2704 Belmont Ave.

Theft: Officers apprehended a 29-year-old Youngstown man in a yard on Gypsy Lane and charged him with theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Four bottles of pain relievers had been stolen from Rite Aid Pharmacy, and the man had a suspected crack pipe in his pocket, police said.

Criminal trespassing: A 45-year-old Youngstown woman was cited after a man told police the woman was on property belonging to a Trumbull Court apartment complex, despite his having told her she was not permitted there.

Burglary: A man discovered the front door to his Tuttle Drive residence had been kicked in. Missing were a dog, a 20-inch TV and roughly 30 DVDs.

Theft: A worker with a Shannon Road business reported the theft of an $18,000 skid steer loader.

Theft: An employee of Blue Light Restaurant Lounge, 3136 Belmont Ave., told authorities a man in his 30s bragged about having stolen a power washer and a vacuum from the business.

Drugs: A traffic stop in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue led to the arrests of a Niles man, 35, and a 42-year-old Youngstown man on charges of drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. Several bags of suspected marijuana and a suspected crack pipe were found, police said.
