East Liverpool woman dies in traffic accident
EAST LIVERPOOL — The Lisbon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating an accident that claimed the life of a 21-year-old woman Tuesday morning.
Amanda M. Desarro of East Liverpool died after being partly ejected from her vehicle at 10:43 a.m. at the intersection of Dresden Avenue and state Route 170 in St. Clair Township. She was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the second car, Georgia Vanwey, 90, of Wellsville, was wearing a seat belt.
The patrol said Desarro was driving south on Route 170. Vanwey stopped on Dresden, then went through a red light to go south on Route 170.
The patrol said Vanwey’s car struck the left rear of the Desarro vehicle, which came to a rest on its left side. The patrol said it wasn’t immediately clear if the vehicle completely rolled over. No charges have been filed.
