Mill Creek MetroParks Farm in Canfield hosted the 16th annual animal baby shower Sunday. The educational exhibit included live animals and facts such as:

Mahoning County’s 700 farms produce each year: 7,384 pounds of honey, 917 sheep, 469,766 pounds of berries and 67,840 woodland and Christmas trees.

A dairy cow makes enough milk every day to produce 7 gallons of milk, 6 pounds of cheese and 3 lbs. of butter.

Worldwide, more people drink goat’s milk than cow’s milk.

A piglet will grow to 200 pounds in less than six months.

Sheep get their first haircut around their first birthday.

Ohio’s chickens lay more than 6 billion eggs per year.

Ohio produces more than 57 million pounds of Swiss cheese every year.

Llamas communicate by humming and will spit at each other.

Ohio produces more than 40,000 gallons of ice cream and 16 million pounds of mushrooms each year.

Agriculture will add more than $67 billion to Ohio’s economy this year.
