Worth a Look: Area activities are open to the public
CARD/BINGO PARTIES
• St. James Altar and Rosary Society will have its 52nd spring card and bingo party at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the auditorium at St. James School (Summit Academy), 2106 Arbor St. S.E., Warren. The $5 donation includes refreshments, a table prize and an opportunity to win a door prize. There also will be a special raffle and a 50-50 raffle. Tickets will be available at the door.
• St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sponsor a super bingo on Thursday. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and games begin at 6:45. There will be a guaranteed $3,500 payoff, and four games will pay $500 each. Admission is $30 and includes all games and a light lunch. For more information, call (330) 755-0266.
• St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society will sponsor a card party from 6 to 9 p.m. April 15 at St. Mary’s Church Hall, corner Seneca and High streets, Warren. The event will feature door prizes, a salad bar and table prizes. Admission is $5.
NIGHTS AT THE RACES
• St. Patrick School in Hubbard will sponsor a Night at the Races on Saturday at St. Patrick Parish Center, North Main Street, Hubbard. Doors open at 6 p.m. and races start at 7. Admission is $5 at the door, and there will be free food, soft drinks and beer. Patrons may take their own food and beverages. SALES
• Lockwood United Methodist Church, 4570 Lockwood Blvd., will have a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday.
• Salvation Army Thrift Store in Austin Center, Mahoning Avenue, Austintown, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. A variety of men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and bric-a-brac is available at bargain prices.
• York Drexler VFW Post 5532, 575 S. Countyline Road, Washingtonville, will be the setting on May 3 for a rummage and craft sale to be sponsored by the auxiliary. Donations will be accepted for the 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. event. Inside tables can be rented for $15, outdoor pavilion tables are $10, and rental for an outdoor space is $25. Vendors keep their profits.
