Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has planned the following activities: Monday, income tax assistance from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and bridge at 1; Tuesday, oil painting at 10 a.m., computer class at 10 and noon, Spanish review at 1 p.m. and digital club at 2; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., computer at 10 and noon, tai chi at noon and 500 cards at 1 p.m.; Thursday, woodcarvers and Watch Our Weight Club at 9 a.m., exercise at noon and line dancing at 1 p.m.; and Friday, Texas Hold’em at 1 p.m. Special events are as follows: Monday, Timberlanes Restaurant; Tuesday, Diabetic program; and Thursday, art show extravaganza. The center, in conjunction with AARP, will offer free tax assistance for those aged 60 and older from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays and Fridays. Call for an appointment. Home Energy Assistance Program applications are available at the center. The center has applications for the SBC telephone discount program of $12.38 per month for eligible applicants.
