Earned Eagle award

Michael Arnaut, a son of Terry and Karen Arnaut, Lynn Avenue, of Youngstown, has received his Eagle Scout award, Boy Scouting’s highest honor.

He is a member of Troop 54, which meets at Heritage Presbyterian Church in Youngstown. His scoutmaster is Dave Chauvin.

Michael has earned 26 merit badges, served as troop scribe, patrol leader and senior patrol leader and earned the Good Turn in America award. He also is a member of Order of the Arrow.

For his Eagle Scout service project, he planned, led and organized a Veterans Memorial Garden at the church with the assistance of Scouts, family and friends. The garden includes a lighted flagpole and medallions representing the different wars the United States fought. Flowers will be planted later this spring. He secured donations of lights and other materials needed to complete the project.

Michael is 18 and a senior at Cardinal Mooney High School, where he is a member of National Honor Society.
