2007
Prescott Burgess, LB, Warren Harding/Michigan — drafted in the sixth round by the Baltimore Ravens. Played in eight games, recording four tackles, before being placed on injured reserve with a quadriceps injury.
Steve Vallos, OL, Boardman/Wake Forest — drafted in the seventh round by the Seattle Seahawks. Was a member of the team’s practice squad last season.
Doug Datish, OL, Howland/Ohio State — drafted in the sixth round by the Atlanta Falcons. Broke his right wrist during training camp and was placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
2006
Anthony Smith, DB, Hubbard/Syracuse — drafted in the third round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Played in all 16 games at safety last season, starting 10. Recorded 68 tackles with two interceptions. Played in all 16 games of 2006 season, starting the last four. Recorded 26 tackles and two interceptions.
Brad Smith, WR, Chaney/Missouri — drafted as a receiver in fourth round by the New York Jets after stellar college career at quarterback. Played in all 16 games last season, starting nine. Lined up as WR, RB and QB and was one of two “gunners” on special teams. Caught 32 passes for 325 yards and two TDs and ran 12 times for 45 yards. Played in all 16 games in 2005, starting three. Caught nine passes for 61 yards and rushed 18 times for 32 yards.
2005
Marlin Jackson, DB, Sharon/Michigan — Drafted in the first round by the Indianapolis Colts. Started all 16 games at cornerback last season, recording 87 tackles and one interception. Appeared in 14 games in 2006, starting eight. Recorded 61 tackles and one interception. Had the game-clinching interception against the Patriots in the AFC Championship game. Played in 15 games in 2005, starting one. Recorded 58 tackles and one interception.
Maurice Clarett, RB, Warren Harding/Ohio State — Drafted in the third round by the Denver Broncos. Released during training camp. Arrested twice in 2006, for armed robbery in January and for carrying a concealed weapon in August. Sentenced to 7 1/2-year prison sentence in September of 2006. Now serving sentence at Toledo Correctional Institute.
