‘Just for Kicks’ fundraiser features auctions
WARREN — John F. Kennedy Catholic High School, 2550 Central Parkway S.E., has planned its 18th “Just for Kicks” fundraiser for April 12. In addition to Chinese, silent and live auctions conducted by Paul Basinger, there will be hors d’oeuvres and a gourmet buffet by Aulizio’s Catering. Tickets are $45.
Auction items include two ringside tickets to the Kelly Pavlik title bout in Atlantic City with two nights at Trump Plaza Hotel; Rachael Ray Show tickets and a trip to New York City; trips to Hawaii and Chicago; items from Gene’s Jewelers and Thom Duma Jewelers; a GTI 130 Sea Doo from Johnny K’s Power Sports; dinners at Station Square Restaurant, Aulizio’s Catering and Lola Bistro and Wine Bar; tickets to Ohio State, Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers and Indians games; and a variety of luxury items valued at more than $5,000.
Students may apply for Brier Hill scholarships
YOUNGSTOWN — The 33rd annual Brier Hill reunion scholarship dinner and dance has been planned for May 9 at Mount Carmel Hall as a scholarship fundraiser. Music will be by the Carmen Mico Orchestra.
Proceeds will be used for scholarships of $1,000 and $500 to be awarded to Youngstown State University students. Applicants for the scholarships must be Italian descendants of Brier Hill and fulltime juniors or seniors at YSU with a grade point average of 2.8 or above. Also considered will be financial need. Recipients will be selected by the YSU Scholarship Committee. Applications are available by contacting Cathy Rimedio at (330) 965-6270.

Teens urged to sign Prom Promise
BOARDMAN — Area teens are being urged to sign the Entheos Prom Promise, stating they will not drink and drive on prom night. They will have an opportunity to sign the pledge at Entheos Salon and Day Spa, 8286 South Ave., Building 2, during salon hours.
Those signing the promise will be scheduled for a time to receive a free haircut on April 20 at the spa. They also will have the opportunity to sign up to win a prom prize package, which includes gift cards from local businesses, and a free prom day hairdo and pedicure for both the signer and her date. Those unable to register in advance can walk in April 20 and sign up.
Spa hours are: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday; 9 a.m to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
