Equipment failure causes power outage
POLAND — Equipment failure at Ohio Edison’s Dobbins Road substation caused about 2,000 customers in the township to lose power.
Paul Harkey, Mahoning County area manager for Ohio Edison, said the first call about the outage came in at 4:22 p.m. Friday. By 4:45 p.m., power had been restored to all but 69 customers, he said.
Ohio Edison crews rerouted the power to restore it. By 7:49 p.m., power had been restored to all of the affected customers, Harkey said. The outage began on state Route 170 at Hummingbird Lane and spread north and south on Route 170 and into the housing developments located east and west of the intersection.
