SteelHounds lose 1-0, eliminated from playoffs


Riley Nelson's power play goal midway through the second period was the only goal scored as the Colorado Eagles defeated the Youngstown SteelHounds, 1-0, in Game 5 of the Central Hockey League playoff series at the Chevrolet Centre.

With the victory, the Eagles wins the series 4-1 and advances to the Northern Conference finals. SteelHounds goalie Kevin Beech made 35 saves in his second playoff appearance. Following the game, SteelHounds owner Herb Washington said the team most likely will remain in the CHL next season, but a move to another league with teams closer to Youngstown could happen in the near future.
