SALEM — Artwork by Loretta Tipton will be on exhibit through April 26 at Danklef Hill Gallery, 474 E. State St. The exhibition includes abstract as well as representational images rendered in vibrant colors on felted wool, acrylic, pastel and fused glass. Tipton is also displaying her colorful fused glass compositions, jewelry and clocks. The gallery is on the second floor of the Friends Roastery building, next to the Salem Community Theatre, in downtown Salem. Hours are 1-5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday; and 10-2 Saturday. Additional hours are available by appointment. Upcoming exhibits at the gallery include a Fine Functional Art Display, in which every item serves a functional purpose. WYSU radio will begin annual pledge drive

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University’s public radio service will hold its annual spring pledge drive Friday through April 11, with a goal of $100,000. Everyone who pledges money to WYSU 88.5 FM — either as a new member, a renewing member, or with an additional gift — will be entered into a drawing to win a pair of tickets to a 13-day tour of Greece, valued at $6,000. Slavjane Folk Ensemble

YOUNGSTOWN — The Slavjane Folk Ensemble, the premiere Rusyn folk ensemble in the United States, will be in concert at 3 p.m. May 4 at Byzantine Catholic Central School auditorium, 5512 Youngstown-Poland Road. Comedian D.L. Hughley coming to Mountaineer

CHESTER, W.Va. — D.L. Hughley, will appear at The Harv concert hall at Mountaineer Casino and Resort at 7:30 p.m. April 18. Tickets are $40 and $20 through Ticketmaster. Known as the “king of the comedians,” Hughley is the star the HBO special “Unapologetic.” He was also the host of HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam,” which premiered in January. Hughley is the star and producer of “The Hughleys,” his namesake television show that ran on ABC and UPN.

Teen rock festival

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning Valley Ulster Project is sponsoring its annual teen Rock-On from 5:30-10 p.m. Saturday at St. Christine Parish Hall, 3165 Schenley Ave., on the West Side. Admission is $6.
