McDonough to feature 72nd student exhibition

YOUNGSTOWN — The 72nd annual Student Exhibition opens Friday and runs through April 18 at the McDonough Museum of Art. Student artists will be honored at a reception and awards ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday at the museum, which is on Wick Avenue at Youngstown State University.

The exhibition is sponsored by the YSU Student Art Association, the YSU department of art and the McDonough. More than 100 YSU students submitted works and 57 were chosen. Don Harvey, an artist-activist-educator from the Cleveland area, is the juror.

The Giants of Gender, an improvisational band, will give a post-reception performance at 8 p.m. Friday.

The McDonough is open from 11-4 Tuesday through Saturday, with extended hours until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Admission is free. For more information, call (330) 941-1400.
