New Castle woman robbed in Boardman

BOARDMAN — A New Castle woman told police her purse was taken by three men who threatened to shoot her as she got out of her car to visit a friend on Hillman Way.

Three men, whom the victim described as in their 20s, approached her about 6:30 p.m. Monday as she got out of her car. The woman, 36, said one of the men pulled at her purse, ordering her to give it to him. He shoved an object into her waist, telling her that it was a gun and he’d shoot her.

The woman said she began yelling to cause a commotion when one of the other men said she was making too much noise and told the first man to shoot her and get the purse.

The woman gave the men the purse and they ran. The victim called police from a nearby apartment.
