4 held in Austintown car theft
AUSTINTOWN — Police have charged two teenagers and two adults with receiving stolen property after a car was stolen at S&C Auto Sales on Mahoning Avenue at about 4:45 a.m. Sunday.
Charged as adults are Robino D. Lawrence II, 18, of University Plaza, Youngstown, and Kendrick Collins, 20, of Fountain Square Drive, Austintown. The two juveniles, 16 and 17, respectively, brothers from Austintown, were taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center. They were also charged with a curfew violation.
Lawrence and Collins were taken to the the Mahoning County Jail on the fourth-degree felony charge. They were arraigned Monday before Judge David D’Apolito in Mahoning County Court in Austintown. Bond was set at $4,000 for each.
An off-duty county deputy sheriff witnessed the car theft and called police, who followed the four in the stolen car until they ran at the corner of Forest Hill Drive and Huntmere Avenue. All four were arrested nearby.
