Pavlik fight | The Lowes survey

Cashing out at Lowes about 6 p.m. Saturday, the clerk had a peculiar question for a Vindy staffer:

“You watching the fight tonight?”

“What fight?” the staffer asked, just to see where it went with the clerk.

She explained the Kelly Pavlik situation.

She was asked how many customers she asked and what the running percentage was who would be watching.

“Most of them,” she said. “But can you believe some people don’t even know about it. How can you not know about it?”

She was a good egg, and good Pavlik booster — except for one detail.

When describing the Youngstown native Pavlik, she said with certainty: “Yeah — he’s from Struthers.”
