Woman, 70-year-old man charged with solicitation
YOUNGSTOWN — After watching Tonya R. Davenport walk up and down Hillman Street and wave at male drivers, police followed along after she got into a van. The officers stopped the vehicle near Chicago Avenue around 12:30 a.m. today.
Davenport, 37, of West Evergreen Avenue and the van driver, 70-year-old Kenneth C. Dressel of East Earle Avenue, were each arrested on a charge of loitering to engage in solicitation. They were each given a court summons and released at the scene.
Dressel told police he was just taking Davenport home “despite the fact that he had already passed up the street she resides on by three blocks and was heading in the wrong direction to boot,” Patrolman Stephen Price wrote in his report.
