jIn case you’ve always wanted to learn more about the intelligent, fleece-bearing member of the camel family that is the alpaca, here’s your chance. Today is National Alpaca Day (ditto for Sunday). Alpacas, along with related clothing and merchandise, can be seen from 10-4 at several local alpaca farms, including Woodland Mist Alpacas on Berlin Station Road between Duck Creek Road and route 534; Ross Alpaca Ranch, 1504 Collar Price Road, Hubbard; Pine Brook Alpacas, 9401 Kinsman-Pymatuning Road in Kinsman; and Sunburst Alpacas, 7600 route 46 in Cortland.

The Average White Band were huge in the ’70s and ’80s with their tight R&B jazz-funk. They’re not so big these days, but still just as good.
