XYOUNGSTOWN — Trinity United Methodist Church was the setting at 2:30 p.m. June 30 for the wedding of Lisa Jolene Maravola of Cortland and Michael Thomas Matas of Austintown. The Rev. Dr. D. Larry Kline officiated, and a reception was held later that day at Ciminero’s Banquet Center in Niles.

The daughter of Carol Maravola of Girard and Mike Maravola of Struthers and the son of Thomas and Barbara Matas of Austintown have returned from a honeymoon cruise to the western Caribbean and live in Cortland.

The bride’s strapless oyster-colored gown was enhanced with beading and featured a corset back and a side-split skirt.

Wearing apple-red gowns were the honor attendants, Jessica Maravola of Girard, a sister of the bride, and Adriane Singer of Adairsville, Ga. Bridesmaids were Christina Smith of Chicago, Jackie Glaros of Boardman, Tesha Montgomery of Rochester, Minn., April Beck of Austintown and Reitha Phillips of Lordstown.

Best men were Dan Welch of Columbus and Chris Lund of McDonald, and groomsmen were Mike Zysk of Columbus, Chris DeVito of Austintown, Bill Tutor of Niles, Nick Sabino of Austintown and Steve Tutor of Lordstown.

Mrs. Matas is a case manager with Trumbull County Department of Job and Family Services in Warren. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in psychology.

Mr. Matas received his degree in accounting from YSU and is a finance director with Lake County Board of Commissioners Finance Division in Painesville.
