Contracts to be awarded for justice offices
MERCER, Pa. — The general-construction contract for the new district justice offices to be built in Pine Township is expected to be awarded to a Pulaski firm when Mercer County commissioners meet today.
Commissioner Kenneth Seamans announced Wednesday that Wallace Building of Pulaski was the successful bidder for the general contract at $772,800.
Other contracts will go to D&G Mechanical Inc., $88,145 for heating and air conditioning; D.J. Hannon & Sons Inc., New Castle, $108,580 for plumbing; and Houston Electric, New Castle, $117,610 for electrical work. Officials said the four were the low bidders.
The new offices for District Justice Larry Silvis will be located on 5.8 acres on Pa. Route 208 north of Grove City near the Pine Township Municipal Building.
Silvis’ current building near Jackson Center is too small, has a leaky roof and security problems and is inconveniently located, officials have said. Completion of the new building is tentatively set for spring.
