Boardman is shut out in Federal showdown
Canfield, Howland and Poland won MAC contests.
BOARDMAN — In the showdown for Federal League supremacy, Emily Winkhart scored a second-half goal Wednesday to give the Massillon Jackson High girls soccer team a 1-0 victory over Boardman.
In earning the shutout, goalkeeper Maria Beligiannides was required to make no saves.
Jackson is 5-0 in league play. Their remaining Federal games are against North Canton Hoover and Canton McKinley
For the Spartans (8-1-1, 4-1), goalkeeper Cheyenne Kahatib made 15 saves. Boardman has Hoover and Fitch remaining on its league schedule.

AUSTINTOWN — Kelsey Martin scored a second-half goal for the Falcons (7-3-2, 3-2 Federal League). Goalkeeper Ali Tolich made two saves.
GlenOak goalkeeper Nicki Becks made 12 saves.

Ursuline 6, Warren JFK 1
YOUNGSTOWN — Senior Hannah Snyder scored four goals while senior Kayla Buckley and senior Katelyn Tondo-Steele added one apiece to spark Ursuline (8-1-1, 1-0-0 Steel Valley Conference) at Wick Recreation Area.
The Irish, who had a 4-0 halftime lead, finished with 16 shots on goal to six for JFK.
Natalie Pleiss scored on a penalty kick for JFK (5-4-3, 0-1 SVC).
JFK goalkeeper Helena Denocopolous made nine saves while Ursuline senior goalkeeper Nikka Bonamase made six stops.
Canfield 3, Niles 0
CANFIELD — Cassie Seemann, Gia Nigro and Audra Frimprong scored for the Cardinals (5-5-2, 5-2 Metro Athletic Conference).
Seeman, Molly Martin and Audrey Smith earned assists. Goalkeepers Anokha Padubidri made four saves while Kelly Fening made one,
Red Dragons goalkeeper Gabby Belcastro made 15 saves.

Howland 6, Salem 1
HOWLAND — Junior Megan Long scored three goals while junior Abby Nicholas, Stephanie Keul and Deja Amato had a goal apiece for Howland (8-0-3, 7-0 MAC).
Carmen Alberini had two assists while Alexa Williams, Amato and Keul each had one assist for the Tigers.
Following a 5-0 halftime lead, Howland increased the gap to 6-0 before Dana Webb scored on a penalty kick for Salem (4-5-2, 1-4-2 MAC).
Salem goalkeeper Sarah Conrad made 14 saves while Howland keeper Casey Haering needed no saves.

Poland 10, East Liverpool 1
EAST LIVERPOOL — Becky Hanna scored three goals while Sam Roberston netted two for the Bulldogs (6-2-2, 5-1-1 MAC).
Also scoring were Pam Shure, Katie Hiznay, Jordan Palumbo, Alicia Taylor and Taylor Marucci. Goalkeeper Stephanie Ciccone made three saves.
Nashay Tenney scored for the Potters.
West Branch 2, Carrollton 0
BELOIT — Emilee Zets and Brandi Snyder scored goals as West Branch improved to 7-3.
Taylor Kring added an assist while Tami Polleman and Jordan Manser combined for seven saves in goal.
Chelsea Devitt made 10 saves for Carrollton.
