Some Lordstown workers should report to work now

LORDSTOWN — Afternoon shift workers at the General Motors complex are being asked to report to work today at their normal start times. Also, skilled trades workers on the morning shift at both the assembly and fabricating plants are asked to report as soon as possible.

Management is restarting production after GM and the United Auto Workers reached a tentative contract agreement this morning. The UAW called a nationwide strike against GM Monday.

The contract will be presented to local union presidents and then sent to UAW members for a ratification vote.
