Plane with blown tire lands safely at Dayton airport

DAYTON (AP) — A commuter jet with 53 people aboard and a blown tire landed safely at Dayton International Airport after circling the airport for nearly half an hour as emergency vehicles deployed.

Airport spokesman Gene Conrad says the Delta Connection flight operated by Freedom Airlines had taken off from Atlanta earlier Monday morning.

Conrad says the pilot noticed a vibration when the landing gear deployed just before landing at Dayton.

The aircraft landed without incident. There were no injuries.
