Parrot head Club plans games, chili cook-off


YOUNGSTOWN — The Parrot Head Club will host its first annual Corn Hole Classic and Chili Cook-off on Saturday on the grounds at the B&O Station and Boxcar Lounge, Mahoning Avenue.

Chili cooking set-up begins at 8 a.m. with cooking at 9. Each pot of chili will be judged at 2 p.m. by local celebrities. Prizes up to $200 will be awarded for best chili, people’s choice, and most creatively decorated cooking area. Registration is $30 per team that must prepare at least 10 gallons of chili.

Corn hole players are to check-in beginning at 9 a.m. Registration is $25 a person or $45 per team; there is a limit of 128 teams. Prizes will be awarded the top five teams, with the grand prize to be $400.

Admission is $5, and proceeds will benefit the Beatitude House. Featured at the day-long event will be live bands, tips on beer-making, a Chinese auction, food, prizes and beverages. For more information and complete contest details, visit http://www.youngstownparrotheadclub.com.
