LOS ANGELES — John David Booty completed 28 of 35 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns before coming out early in the fourth quarter, and the Trojans (3-0, 1-0) opened their Pac-10 season with their 35th consecutive victory at home. Booty threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns to Fred Davis in the first half, when the Trojans took a 27-7 lead.

No. 9 Wisconsin 17, Iowa 13

MADISON, Wis. — P.J. Hill ran for 113 yards and the go-ahead score in the fourth quarter and Wisconsin rallied for a victory. Hill carried 10 times for 43 yards and scored on third-and-goal from the 2 to put Wisconsin ahead 14-10. Jake Christensen was 17-of-37 for 169 yards and a touchdown pass for Iowa (2-2, 0-1).

No. 13 Oregon 55, Stanford 31

STANFORD, Calif. — Dennis Dixon threw a career-high four touchdowns and rushed for another score, and Oregon scored 34 straight points to pull away from Stanford. Jeremiah Johnson scored the go-ahead touchdown midway through the third quarter and Jonathan Stewart, who rushed for 160 yards on 19 carries, also scored as the Ducks (4-0, 1-0 Pac-10) started with four wins for the second straight season.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Mikey Henderson caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford in overtime to lift Georgia to a victory. The Crimson Tide started overtime with the ball but failed to gain a yard and Leigh Tiffin put Alabama ahead with a 42-yard field goal. The Bulldogs (3-1, 1-1 Southeastern Conference) needed one play to win it. Stafford lofted a pass to the left side of the end zone for Henderson, who made an over-the-shoulder catch. Alabama (3-1, 2-1) scored 10 points in the final 6:30 to force overtime.

HONOLULU — Tyler Graunke overcame a rough start in place of Colt Brennan, throwing for 285 yards and three touchdowns. Brennan, sidelined with a sprained right ankle, suited up and participated in warmups but sat out for the first time in his career with the Warriors.

Geneva 28, Bethany 13

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — Four different players scored on the ground for the Golden Tornadoes. Matt Dean rushed for 102 yards and recovered a fumble in the end zone for Geneva (3-1). The Golden Tornadoes also got touchdown runs from Gerard Muschette, Bobby Bondi and Luke Duriancik, whose TD run with 1:37 left sealed the win. Milton Joyner threw touchdown passes of 21 yards to Taylor McNeil and 11 yards to Matt Cuse for Bethany (2-1). Joyner passed for 217 yards and the Golden Tornadoes held Bethany to 67 yards on the ground. Geneva’s punishing ground attack picked up 339 yards.

Slippery Rock 45, Kutztown 9

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Corey Manfull (United) rushed for 170 yards and three touchdowns — including a 96-yard sprint — to propel Slippery Rock which has a start 4-0 for the first time since 1962. Quarterback Nate Crookshank and Paul Favers each scored on the ground and Richie Barnes returned an interception 87 yards for another TD as Slippery Rock took a 31-9 halftime lead. Crookshank threw for 168 yards and scored on a 27-yard run in the third quarter. Matt Dineen kicked field goals of 35, 21 and 30 yards for Kutztown (2-2), which was held to just 21⁄2 yards per attempt on the ground and turned the ball over four times. C.J. Bahr kicked a 31-yard field goal in Slippery Rock’s 17-point first quarter.

Waynesburg 27, Grove City 23

GROVE CITY, Pa. — Robert Heller rushed for 211 yards and scored the go-ahead touchdown in the final minute for Waynesburg. Heller scored two touchdowns in the first half as the Yellow Jackets (3-0, 1-0 Presidents’ Athletic Conference) took a 20-17 halftime lead. But Chris Haley kicked a pair of field goals after the break — including a 49-yarder in the fourth — to give Grove City (1-3, 1-1) a 23-20 lead before Heller capped a six-play, 36-yard drive with a 1-yard TD run. Matt Weil scored on a 4-yard run and Andrew DiDonato threw a 21-yard touchdown pass for Grove City in the first half.
