Lisbon man killed in motorcycle accident

ELKTON — A 24-year-old Lisbon motorcyclist was killed Saturday evening on Middle Beaver Road in Elk Run Township.

Trooper Kevin Thompson of the Ohio State Highway Patrol in Lisbon said David S. Bates of Freeman Road was pronounced dead at the scene.

Thompson said Bates was riding his cycle eastbound on Middle Beaver shortly after 6 p.m. when the cycle went off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment, ejecting the cyclist. Bates was wearing a helmet.
