hWith ClickON, feed
the birds from inside

Don’t like slogging through the snow to refill your bird feeder? The ClickON Bird Feeder System lets you feed the birds from the warmth of your house with just the press of a remote-control button.

The system uses a pneumatic tube to shoot bird seed from a storage container inside your home to a feeder up to 100 feet away. The system won’t overfill the feeder and can even be attached to a timer.

The system costs $495 and requires about $90 of additional material from a hardware store. Installation takes about 90 minutes to 3 hours.

The system is available at www.clickonbirdfeeders.com or (815) 519-6363. Installation instructions are on the Web site, so you can see what’s involved before you buy.

mixes wisdom, wit

Top birders mix wisdom with wit in this collection of 50 essays. You’ll pick up useful information on such topics as birding in bad weather and cleaning your binoculars sans saliva, but you’re also likely to be charmed and maybe inspired by the writers’ passion for their subject.
