WATCHING ON TV Pavlik fight

Even if you are not going to Atlantic City, N.J., to see Youngstown boxer Kelly Pavlik fight for the middleweight title on Sept. 29, you can still see the fight at home, as it will be televised on HBO, the premium cable TV channel.

To order HBO, call your cable or satellite company. Prices vary, and subscribers can cancel the service at any time.

Armstrong Cable, which provides cable service in many Mahoning Valley communities, including Austintown, Boardman and Canfield, offers HBO for $13.95 a month. Armstrong is running a special in which customers can get HBO and Cinemax for $13.95 a month, a savings of $8.95 a month. The channels can be canceled at any time. The only requirement is the customer must have a digital set-top box hooked up to the television. Those who don’t have a digital box can pick one up at Armstrong’s Boardman office, or call to have an Armstrong serviceman make a house call (this takes a few days, so do it soon so you have it before the fight). The set-top box adds $2.95 to your monthly bill. Call (330) 758-6411.

Time Warner Cable, which provides cable service in Youngstown, Warren and most of Trumbull County, will add HBO and Cinemax for $12 a month. The channels can be canceled at any time. Digital capability is a prerequisite. Call (866) 903-3995.
