Summit Academy rallies past Mohawk for a 4-point victory

BESSEMER — Mohawk had a 22-18 lead in the fourth quarter but Summit Academy rallied to win, 26-22, on Laron Green’s 16-yard run with 5:43 remaining capped by Green’s conversion pass to Terrence Davis, in a WPIAL Section 4-AA game Friday night.

Theo Betts and Joe Rutherford caught scoring passes of 55 and 3 yards, respectively, to also lead Summit (3-1, 3-0).

Seth Powell led Mohawk (3-1, 3-1) by passing for two TDs to Chase Frederick (21 yards) and Michael Henry (28 yards). Powell was 5-for-13 passing for 84 yards. Travis Schubert rushed for 117 yards in 20 carries.

Cornell 7

CORNELL, Pa. — Ryan Tanner was involved in two touchdowns and accounted for 316 total yards to pace Shenango in a WPIAL Section 4-Class AA game.

Tanner raced 66 yards to a TD and also hit Aaron Maxwell with a 69-yard scoring pass. Tanner finished with 5-for-8 passing for 163 yards and 153 yards rushing in 17 attempts.

Nick Ludovici scored two TDs for Shenango (1-3, 1-2) on runs from the 3- and 1-yard lines.

For Cornell (0-4, 0-4), Antwon Huff hit Sean Hunt on a 66-yard TD pass while Keith Jackson rushed for 75 yards in 16 carries.
