Spelling bee registration


YOUNGSTOWN — The registration process for participating in the Scripps National Spelling Bee has changed.

The deadline for eligible schools and home schoolers in Mahoning and Trumbull counties to enter the 75th Annual Vindicator Regional Spelling Bee is rapidly approaching.

To participate in the 2008 Scripps National Spelling Bee program, you must enroll online by Oct. 15, 2007. Go to www.spellingbee.com to access the official Web site.

The Vindicator will be notified of local online registrations, and your school will receive informational materials to register your local school champion.

This year’s regional competition will be March 15, 2008, in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center at Youngstown State University.
