Salem gets in win column, defeats Campbell 31-30 in OT
CAMPBELL — Travis Wisler caught a 2-yard pass from quarterback Zach O’Brien, then Seth Harding made the deciding extra point with a place kick as Salem high snapped a four-game losing streak with a 31-30 overtime win over Campbell Memorial Friday night.
Austin Hutton, who rushed for 160 yards on 34 carries, scored on runs of 6 and 9 yards for the Quakers (1-4, 1-1) in the Metro Athletic Conference contest.
O’Brian connected on 13-of-16 passes for 118 yards. He also threw a 20-yard TD strike to Ben Eisel, who caught six passes for 75 yards.
Quarterback Darrio Bivens led Campbell by rushing 19 times for 135 yards, which included TD runs of 75 and 3 yards. He also completed 4-of-13 passes for 135 yards, which included a TD 20-yard TD strike to Maurise Kerns, who also scored on a 27-yard run.

POLAND — The Bulldogs (4-1, 2-0), used a punishing rushing attack to cruise by East Liverpool, 56-7, in a Metro Athletic Conference game Friday night.
Trent Vallinger gained 120 yards on seven carries, which included a 13-yard touchdown run. Tyler Vallinger scored on runs of 35 and 17 yards.
The Bulldogs rushed for 441 yards and passed for 90, while East Liverpool (0-5, 0-2) gained 114 yards rushing and 28 passing.

HOWLAND — Matt Preston threw for 113 yards and ran for two more touchdowns and Adam Rubesich ran for 64 and two touchdowns to lead Howland (5-0, 2-0), which is 5-0 for the first time since 2004.
Mike Mangiarelli added 81 yards rushing, including a 46-yard touchdown run that closed out the scoring. Nathan Cope had 44 yards rushing and a TD.
Sam Valiquette led Struthers (1-4, 0-2) with 58 yards rushing on 20 carries.
