Children’s museum plans open house

YOUNGSTOWN — The Children’s Museum of the Valley, 139 E. Boardman St. in downtown, will host a free open house for educators from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday.

CMV invites local educators to tour the museum with Tina DeVito, manager of education, who will provide information about educational opportunities including field trips to the museum, focused hands-on experiences based on Ohio’s Academic Content Standards, and future teacher workshops.

The museum also will present its plans for outreach programs that will be available to Valley classrooms this spring.

Educators are welcome to bring colleagues with them to the event. Those attending will enter a drawing for a free field trip for up to 25 children to the museum. Light refreshments will be provided.
