Thieves take brass vases from graves

YOUNGSTOWN — Someone stole 36 bronze vases valued at roughly $8,000 from Calvary Cemetery on South Belle Vista Avenue, police said. An employee of the cemetery told police Thursday that reports of the thefts have been coming in the past two to three weeks. Some of the vases are a hammered style and worth $225 each and the others are Grecian style and valued at $200 each.
