MLK choir seeks singers for Powers show
YOUNGSTOWN — The Martin Luther King planning committee is seeking singers from area religious, civic and community organizations to participate in a celebration choir in partnership with the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra. A reception for interested singers is planned at 6 p.m. Monday at Powers Auditorium with Arnold Wagner, choir director. Singers of all ages and faiths are encouraged to participate.
The choir will present a musical tribute to Martin Luther King with the theme “A Spiritual Journey: The Road to Peace and Freedom” during a program Jan. 19, at Powers. Major Jay Williams and his wife, Sonya, will narrate the program.
