Griswold gives Mooney 1-1 tie; Tondo-Steele keys Ursuline win
CHAGRIN FALLS — Katie Griswold’s goal on Ashley Cuba’s assist gave Mooney a 1-0 lead in the first half to help lead the Cardinals to a 1-1 tie against Chagrin Falls in a girls soccer game Thursday.
Chagrin Falls tied the game on Rory Chaffee’s goal in the first half, before both teams waged a defensive standoff in the second half.
Mooney (2-1-4) goalie Meagan McGlaughlin had five saves.

AUSTINTOWN — Kara Cooper’s goal on an assist from her sister, Kristi with five minutes left gave YCS the tie at Highway Tabernacle.
Kara Cooper had two goals and Eve Griffin the other goal for Youngstown Christian (6-2-2).
For Maplewood, Erica Pinko had two goals and Tori Spencer one goal.

EAST LIVERPOOL — Ryan Storkel scored two goals and had three assists for the Bulldogs (7-1-2, 4-0-2 MAC). Blake Rhein, Alan Gavolas, Brian Ciccone, Brian Witt, Frank Ferraro, and Matt Mrozek each scored a goal.
Brian Garcar, Witt, Gavolas, Rhein and Scott Liddle each had an assist.
Poland had 14 shots on goal and East Liverpool had seven.
