Man sentenced to four years for Boardman robbery

YOUNGSTOWN — The second man to be sentenced in an April 3 Boardman robbery has drawn a four-year prison term.

Sherman C. Moore Jr., 18, of Idlewood Avenue, received that sentence Wednesday from Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court, who also had imposed a four-year prison term on Moore’s accomplice, Willie Lee Glenn Jr., 18, of West Boston Avenue, on Tuesday.

Glenn and Moore pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery in an incident on Trotwood Drive, in which a pellet gun was used to rob three men of $2,400 and a car.

The prosecution dropped a third aggravated robbery count against Glenn and Moore in a plea deal, recommended four-year prison terms for both men, and said it wouldn’t oppose judicial release for them after they serve a year in prison.

Both defendants apologized in court for their actions, and neither defendant had a prior criminal record.
