Women veterans’ event planned

ASHVILLE — The Ohio Governor’s Advisory Committee for Women Veterans and the Department of Veteran Affairs, VA Healthcare System of Ohio, is inviting women veterans to share in a celebration of their service to the country during a free, one-day conference scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 20 at Teays Valley High School, 3887 state Route 752.

The Mahoning County Veterans Service Commission will provide free transportation to and from the event. A free lunch will be served, and available benefits will be presented. Interested female veterans must register by Oct. 15 and can do so on-line at www.veteransaff-airs.ohio.gov/wom_conf_2007.htm or by contacting Mone Jackson or Brenda Polas at Veterans Service Commission, (330) 740-2451, for assistance with registration and transportation.
