Wine-tasting event at Alberini’s

NILES — “Splendor in the Glass” is the theme for a wine-tasting fundraiser to be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Alberini’s Restaurant, co-sponsored by Youngstown State University and Youngstown Air Reserve Base Community Council.

Proceeds will be used to establish the Richard Alberini Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of Alberini, who was president of the 910th Airlift Wing Base Community Council. The event, which also commemorates the 50th anniversary of the restaurant, will feature a variety of wines, hors d’oeuvres, music and a silent auction. Tickets (a tax-deductible donation) are $100 per person or $175 per couple.
