Mahoning, Cafaro Co. to settle lease dispute

YOUNGSTOWN — Mahoning County commissioners are expected to approve a settlement Thursday with Ohio Valley Mall to resolve all legal proceedings between the county and the Cafaro Co. subsidiary.

The proposed deal on the commissioners’ meeting agenda calls for annual payments of $225,000 to Ohio Valley Mall for four years to settle a lease dispute. OVM owns Garland Plaza on the city’s East Side. That is the former home of the county’s Department of Job and Family Services.

The county agency moved from Garland Plaza in July to Oakhill Renaissance Place, the former Forum Health Southside Medical Center.
